For newer Mac models, creating a startup floppy disk sometimes is a pain because of the growing size of System and Finder files, plus the system Enabler! Some utility programs allow us to build a startup floppy disk with an optimizing application, but it is Finderless! We can only use that particular application but not accessing our hard disk or other operations. Even we use the smaller files from the Disk Tools disk to build our own, we still need a few K's to include an application in the startup floppy disk. "FloppySystem Trimmer" trims our System, Finder, Enabler, and even the application that we want to put in our startup floppy disk. After using "FloppySystem Trimmer," we can have a startup floppy disk that works just like a hard disk that we can do anything we want!

****** Caution ******
For Powe Mac models: Please understand that although this program trims down System, Finder, and Enabler files, the file size of application you want to put in the floppy disk must not be more than 289K after the trimming.
For other 680x0 models: you can trim the System, Finder, and Enabler (if necessary) first, then find the available disk space of the floppy disk to see how much disk space you can put an application in the floppy disk.
All the color resources will be deleted to decrease the file size. You won't be able to see much color stuff if you startup you Mac using the floppy disk that this program builds.
****** Building Floppy Disk ******
1. Copy the "System," "Finder," and "Minimal Enabler (if necessary)" from the "Disk Tools Disk" into the "FloppySystem Trimmer v1.1f" folder. (If you have the system software in the CD-ROM, you need to use the image copy program to build a Disk Tools Disk, such as Apple's Disk Copy). Make sure that all those files have the same names as the original files.
2. Copy the application you want to trim into the "FloppySystem Trimmer v1.1f" folder.
3. Launch "FloppySystem Trimmer v1.1f."
4. Select "Trim" from the File menu.
5. Click the buttons that you want to perform the trimming process.
6. After you trim all the necessary files, quit the program.
7. Insert a 1.44 MB high-density floppy disk into your disk drive. Initialize the disk to make it only 1K in the disk.
8. Copy all the "trimmed" file from the "FloppySystem Trimmer v1.1f" folder to the floppy disk.
9. You can select "New" from the Finder's "File" menu to create an untitled folder in your floppy disk and rename it as "System Folder," then drag the "System," "Finder," and "Enabler" files into the "System Folder" you have created. This is optional, it will not hurt anything if you do not do this.
10. Now you have build a startup floppy disk that will do anything just like you startup from your hard disk. Of course, it runs slower and no color. Sorry!
